The 2025 Bellingen Show is set to return on May 24-25 with an expanded sustainability program and enhanced accessibility.
The SustainaBellingen Showcase returns bigger than ever for 2025, expanding to two full days of programming in its own dedicated marquee – a significant expansion of the Show’s commitment to sustainability and community resilience.
This year’s showcase features an impressive lineup of speakers, including former ABC weatherman Graham Creed discussing climate change and sustainable agriculture, and local expert “Andrew the Bird Guy” demonstrating how to attract birds to your garden and interpret bird alarms to track predators.
“We’re not shying away from the challenging issues,” said Susan Lumsdaine, President of the Bellinger River Agricultural Society. “Visitors can join conversations on affordable housing with the Housing Matters Action Group, learn about disaster preparedness from NCN’s Weather Watch, and explore local solutions through interactive panel discussions.”
The showcase will also feature the beautiful short film “Whispers of Wilderness,” demonstrations from Cascade Environmental School, home electrification information.
Waste Reduction Initiatives
Building on previous success, the 2025 Show will feature ReThink Waste stations strategically placed throughout the showground and the Mug Library at all coffee vendor stalls. In recent years, these initiatives have helped reduce landfill waste from 16 cubic metres to just 5 cubic metres. In 2024 the Mug Library diverted more than 700 single use coffee cups from landfill. The Show committee is aiming for even greater reductions this year.
Online Ticketing Now Open
Tickets for the 2025 Bellingen Show are now available online via the Bellingen Show website, with online purchases offered at a discounted rate. Tickets will also be available at the gate and from the Secretary’s Office during office hours in the week before the Show.
Free Shuttle Bus Service by Busways
Thanks to Busways, a free shuttle bus service will operate throughout the Show weekend, making the event accessible to more community members and reducing congestion from parking in the residential area surrounding the showground.
The Busway’s service will begin each day from Urunga’s Pilot Street Coach Bus Stop at 7:25 am and run a continuous loop with stops at Bellingen High School (Waterfall Way entrance), Church Street bus stop, McCristal Drive, and the Bellingen Showground.
The final return service to Urunga will depart from the Showground at 4:40 pm on Saturday and 3:20 pm on Sunday. Visit the Show website for timetable information.
