After two cancellations we are excited to announce another three great concerts at the Megan Hall. We would like to acknowledge that these concerts are jointly funded by the Commonwealth and NSW Governments under the Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements and supported by Bellingen Shire Council.

Our first concert in this series features William Alexander, a true lover of old songs. He channels the timeless sound of classic country while keeping it deeply rooted in his Australian identity, having spent a lot of years living and working on farms and stations in NSW. His performances are filled with authenticity and raw emotion, making him a standout talent in the contemporary country music scene.

Nominated for two Golden Guitars in 2024, William was also named the winner of the 2025 Thornton Young Award. With a voice that commands attention and a passion for preserving the rich legacy of the music, his music reflects the heart and soul of the outback and those who live and work in it, capturing the rugged beauty and real stories of everyday life.

This will be a Sunday afternoon concert beginning at 2.00 pm. Please bring a plate to share for afternoon tea. You can get tickets at the door though bookings will be appreciated on 0428415078. Adults$25.00. Kids $12.00.

On Saturday, the 31st of May, the hall will host Midnight Chicken. Sure to please any crowd, the band (you will recognise them from the festival) were hatched and raised in Newcastle and has quickly become a hot topic in the bluegrass and country circuits.

Hear amazing renditions of traditional tunes and old classics as well as something a little more modern and original.

They couldn’t get to the festival last year as they happened to be supporting Brad Cox on a national tour. But they have included Megan Hall on their current tour!

The third concert in this series comes at the end of Winter’s first month when we welcome two amazing contemporary songbirds to delight you on Sunday afternoon, the 29th of June. Both Jhana Allen and Anoushe Victoire write songs that reach into the soul of the listener; they will share their stories with you as their voices transport you through landscapes where folk, jazz and world-influenced melodies ring out clearly amongst fiddle, mandolin and fingerpicking folk guitar.

We will have more news coming soon of these concerts, but for now, why don’t you get together with some friends and wind your way out through the beautiful landscape to the Megan Valley and join us for our first season guest, William Alexander? You can find him on Bandcamp. I think a blend of Hank Williams, Colter Wall, Willie Nelson, Marlon Williams and Charley Crockett! He really is!
