Groovy threads and sharp minds combined for a far-out fundraiser in Bellingen over the weekend, proving that 70s nostalgia can make a real difference.
70s Trivia Night is a great success!
Last Saturday night, the Pavilion at Bellingen Showground was the scene of much fun and ‘chaos’ as the Neighbourhood Centres of Bellingen Shire held its annual Trivia Night fundraiser. People dressed up in funky 70s fashion and had a fun time answering questions about the 1970s.
The event was held to fundraise to help people in the Bellingen Shire doing it tough. We provide a range essential services that does not get funded through any funding bodies, including meals, groceries, food vouchers, fuel vouchers, help with power bills, clothes, bedding, tents for people experiencing homelessness, and material goods donated by our community members. On average, throughout the Shire, about 3 people a day will seek this assistance.
Despite the election, we raised over $1500, which is fantastic!
Our Businesses in the Shire were amazing! They generously donated lots of prizes for people to win. We are much indebted to them and thank them immensely.
A huge thank you to everyone who attended the night and to all the volunteers who made that night a great success.
