Lion Bruce Tait was born 15th January 1938 in Bellingen where he lived.
Lion Bruce is a man of very few words but over the years has been a very active and highly regarded member of Bellingen Lions Club and the wider community.
Lion Bruce Fitter and Machinist by trade.
He married Jean on 15th June 1968, and they had two children, Natalie and Matthew.
Lion Bruce has been a volunteer a significant part of his life, a member of the Fire Brigade for approximately 20 years, serving as Captain for around 12 and ½ years. One of the more memorable events that occurred was a very large fire that had the potential to burn the shopping centre of Bellingen, with the skill and tenacity of these men the damage wasn’t as catastrophic as could have been.
He was also a Foundation Member of the Bellingen Golf Club in 1979.
Lion Bruce joined Bellingen Lions when he was invited to a meeting by Ray Hickey who was his sponsor into Lions. He became a member on 1st April 1975.
From the beginning Lion Bruce always said it was a privilege and honour to be a member of Bellingen Lions and Lions International.
