BELLINGEN — They’re hard to miss and even harder to forget. Boss Stomp, the high-energy duo known for their “Blood and Stone” debut and unforgettable live shows, has surged onto the Coffs Coast music radar, proving their rapid rise is anything but an overnight sensation.
Boss Stomp has quickly become a familiar name on the Coffs Coast music scene. This Northern Beaches duo are hard to miss—with their bold, funky posters and delightfully offbeat social media clips that perfectly match their vibrant, one-of-a-kind sound. Boss Stomp is the meeting of two big creative personalities, come life-long friends and collaborators who’ve come to fit together like puzzle pieces, delivering live shows full of energy and charisma.
If you’re unfamiliar with the Boss sound, picture a mash-up of Ash Grunwald’s raw blues and roots, the gritty edge of The White Stripes, and the cool of The Cruel Sea. Their sound mixes open-tuned resonator guitars, pounding rhythms, funky bass grooves, and compelling vocals that weave quirky stories—from dusty desert journeys to tales of robot romances. Behind the fun and jokes, are two highly accomplished musicians; Skotty Fairclough ( guitar, kick + hats, lead vocals ) and Greg Farr ( Bass, percussion + b-up vocals).
Boss Stomp’s rise has been rapid, starting out only earlier this year appearing at the Big Banana Sunset Sessions and Open Mic nights, they’ve since caught national radio attention, earned industry nods, and packed their tour diary with gigs that are now taking them to new pastures.
Whilst Boss are a seemingly new act moving at pace, this isn’t their first rodeo. The duo’s musical journey spans over 30 years and variety of collaborations, that have involved lengthy tours, shared stages, cheap hotels, unorthodox rehearsal spaces, and plenty of laughs and late-night shenanigans along the way.
Their chemistry is rooted in a friendship that started in their early teens and shines brightest when they’re live on stage. Watching Boss Stomp is like witnessing two synchronized swimmers with guitars and a whole lot more grit. Their debut single, “Blood and Stone,” is a powerful snapshot of that unique energy, proving they’re an act capable of bottling that live energy into recorded works.
Catch them live at the Federal Hotel in Bellingen August 2, kicking off at 7:30 PM.
