“Genetically blessed region” “Relaxed boho vibe” “Full of eclectic boutiques” “Vibrant creative community” “Really special” and “Ticks a lot of family holiday essentials”.
These are just some of the glowing descriptions of our shire from the Nine Network’s Getaway Presenter Charli Robinson in two recent episodes of the long-running travel show.
Local fashion designer Megs Ferrier, who featured in the first ‘Bello’ segment that aired in March, said the response to the show has been “incredible”.
“We’ve had great success following the Getaway episode with people coming into the store from all over the place,” Megs said
“There have been visitors from as far away as Perth who have come to here to visit our STATE Of EMBRACE store and our beautiful Bellingen town and shire.”
“They’re loving our unique designs as well as our approach to sustainability and inclusiveness, as we hand dye in natural or non-harmful dyes and our size range includes sizes 4 to 22.”
Megs prides herself on designing aesthetic, carefully curated with sustainable, soft natural fabrics and fused with a minimal approach to modern femininity.
The presenter was clearly chuffed to chat to Megs for the show after admitting to being a fan of purchasing some of her designs through the STATE Of EMBRACE online store.
Retro Bellingen and the Bellingen Farmers & Producers Market also featured in a five-minute segment dedicated to the towns eclectic, sustainable and low food miles shopping experience.
The second segment aired on 21 June and focused on the shire’s diverse local produce and ‘foodie’ assets. Ms Robinson enjoyed a crab lasagna with chef Simon Jones at Charlies at Church, stayed at The Lodge, dined at the Three Blue Ducks restaurant and visited Levendale Farm.
