BV Magpies versus Beechwood
Last weekend the Magpies travelled to Beechwood to take on the Shamrocks, a club celebrating 120 years in the Hastings League. In a great show of team spirit and missing a few of the better players, the Magpies were able to front up with the players eager to have a game and proudly represent the Cluh. Once again, the Magpies began their much-improved attitude to defence to only trail 18-0 at half time. They also bombed several tries, which would have had them well in the game. The Shamrocks running away with the game in the second half to win. While the whole team tried hard, Jake Turner for the Magpies, scored two points in the best and fairest.
Get ready for the last home game of the season at the Graveyard this Friday night as the Magpies take on the Orara Valley Axemen. No doubt the Axemen will be seeking revenge for their first-round loss and will be supported by their passionate followers. With local footy pride on the line, it should be an exciting match. See you there.
