Brierfield’s Sahara Weil has completed her campaign at the FEl Vaulting World Championship for Juniors in Stadl-Paura, Austria, producing solid results on the world stage in the Female Individual division.
Partnered with horse Eldorado 139 and German lunger Sophie Kuhn for the championship, 17-year-old Sahara was awarded 6.617 in the Compulsory Test and 6.081 in the Free Test. This gave the young Australian, who has been vaulting since the age of 15, an average of 6.349 - and while this wasn’t quite enough to progress to the final, it was an admirable score to have produced on the world stage and her first Championships.
“Being part of the World Championships and representing my country on such a stage was an unforgettable experience - one that taught me so much about myself as a vaulter, as a person, and about this incredible sport,” Sahara said.
“I’m excited to keep pushing and growing from here, and I’m Iooking forward to chasing big goals and attending more World Championships.”
Sahara has returned home to Brierfield and has commenced her training campaign for the 2027 World Championships. Sahara is looking for sponsorship to help support her campaign. You can follow Sahara on Instagram at saharaweilvaults.
She will return to Europe in March 2026 to commence the European competition circuit and to chase a qualifying score, to represent Australia in 2027.
