A free writing and critiquing group is inviting new members from the local area to join their monthly meetings. Whether you’re just starting a new project or are deep into a manuscript, the group offers a supportive environment for writers of all levels.
This free writing and critiquing group are open for more members from the local area! If you have a writing project in mind or are currently working on a manuscript for self-publishing or to be published with a traditional publisher, then this group may exactly what you and your writing needs.
Monthly, a small group of writers meet and critique each other’s writing piece of up to 2000 words that has been submitted the previous week to Kathy or Kim (via email) and distributed to the participants for critiquing. When you receive other participants’ work you can either print it out and write your critique on the document – usually comments along the way, and then a paragraph summary at the end. At the meeting we go around each participant and give verbal critiques of their work and then give them the copy. If you are interested in attending, you will be provided with “critiquing guidelines.”
The group meet at the Old Butter Factory Café as the owners Dan and Sophie have welcomed WOW at this ideal venue. We either purchase a beverage and/or lunch at the beginning of the meeting and then quickly move into our critiquing.
