Longriders lead church service

Longriders bikes

On Sunday 10th August the Uniting Church in Bellingen reverberated to the loud drone of motor bikes, as members of the Longriders Christian Motorcycle Club arrived to lead the morning worship service. The usual small congregation was swelled by about 30 men in black leather, along with their families. The event was organised by local congregation member and Longrider ‘Uggy’ who delivered the message.  ‘Neutral’ shared his heartfelt testimony and other members of the Club led in prayers and Bible readings.

Afterwards, over a delicious curry lunch served by the group, there was a time of getting to know each other and sharing stories.

The Longriders Club has a focus on Christian outreach and service to the biking community. This involves ‘fair dinkum Christianity that requires action not just talk, brotherhood, family and community.’  Longriders has been instrumental in, and supportive of many men and women finding Christian faith. This has often resulted in freedom from drug and alcohol addiction, improved quality of life and restored relationships.
