Celebrating Father’s Day with Roy Cowcher at Bellingen Masonic Village

This Father’s Day, we were delighted to celebrate with Roy Cowcher, a much-loved resident of Bellingen Masonic Village. At 88 years old, Roy brings with him a lifetime of experiences, stories, and passions that continue to inspire those around him.

Born in Cobram, Victoria, Roy has lived in many places and worked in a variety of roles throughout his life. He proudly spent 15 years in the Army, describing his service as a great education and foundation for the years that followed. Away from work, his greatest joys have always been cycling and fishing, which have given him both adventure and peace.

Roy is a devoted family man, with two children,   Sandra (Pictured)  and Gary. His wife, Irene, also resides at the Village, and together they continue to share their journey side by side. Sandra visits most days, and Roy enjoys the many friendships he has built both here and in the wider community.

This Father’s Day, Roy began his celebrations with a trike tour through our beautiful Bellingen Valley, taking in the fresh air and views he loves so much. He then joined his wife and fellow residents for a BBQ lunch, enjoying good food, laughter, and the warmth of family and community.

We are honoured to celebrate Roy and all the fathers and father figures who make Bellingen Masonic Village such a special place.
