The community’s passion for gardening bloomed this past weekend as Bellingen hosted its annual Spring Plant Fair. Following a rainy no-show in Autumn, the event returned bigger and brighter than ever, with an impressive turnout and a record number of stalls offering a stunning array of plants, tools, and workshops.
Bellingen was buzzing with energy this past Saturday, September 13th, as the Spring Plant Fair celebrated another year of tremendous success. The event drew an impressive crowd, with locals and visitors alike gathering to explore a stunning array of plants and gardening treasures under the beautiful spring sky. The atmosphere was vibrant, filled with the cheerful sounds of community members connecting over their shared passion for gardening, particularly after being rained out in Autumn.
Organisers were delighted to welcome back nearly 100 stalls overflowing with everything a green thumb could desire, from rare native saplings and exotic flowers to quality gardening tools and organic soil conditioners. The variety was exceptional, ensuring that both seasoned horticulturists and budding gardeners found something special to take home. Stallholders reported a record result. This year’s fair featured engaging workshops for all ages, which proved to be a major highlight for many attendees with workshops on composting, living waste free, nesting boxes, a plant walk through Bellingen Park, and permaculture.
The strong turnout not only brought lively activity to the town but also provided a significant boost to local growers and small businesses. The Bellingen Spring Plant Fair once again proved to be a cornerstone community event, successfully cultivating connections and celebrating the start of the gardening season. Organisers are already turning their sights to Autumn, save the date – 14th March 2026.
