Beautiful weather and a slick true green running at 18 seconds of late has made for some terrific bowls at the North Beach Bowling and Recreation club.
The triples competition has come into play with Vanessa Machon, Jules White and Robyn Hoschke winning the Ladies Triples event ahead of Jenny Foster, Belinda Cork and Christine Goy.
The first round of the Men’s Triples competition featured a few upsets, including a loss for Chris Garrett. The Semifinals will be held this weekend.
The recent Ladies Major Pairs Final saw Vanessa Machon and Jules White defeating Jenny Foster and Christine Gow 16-14 after being 14 all on the last end. Vanessa and Jules scored a two in the final bowl to win the final. The Mens Pairs Final was postponed and will feature Chris Garrett and Garry Stevenson vs Luke Mcmillion and Brad Maddock.
The Mens Major Singles Final featured Mike Cowpendlton vs Chris Garrett. Mike was playing in his 4th singles final and came out drawing well while Chris just kept in touch early before settling into his game and getting seven spots in three ends. Mike was not able to recover with Chris winning 25-17 and a third champion title in three years.
The Mylestom Muddies are hosting the North Coast regional Rookie Pairs competition this weekend. Go the Muddies!
