The NSW Fire and Rescue Bellingen Fire Station have farewelled Deputy Captain Trevor ‘Crazy Horse’ Sinclair after 26 years of service to the Bellingen community.
Trevor has clocked up 16 years of those years as Deputy Captain and attended countless fires, rescue situation and car accidents.
The local tiler and carpenter said retiring from his ‘second job’ as an on-call firefighter will lead to more time for travel.
“I will miss it, but it does mean my wife and I can go on more holidays without having to worry about getting called back in,” Trevor said.
Captain Brian Woollard said Trevor will be sorely missed.
“Whether you’ve met Trevor through the fire brigade, on a job site, around town, or at the Graveyard during his playing days with the Bellingen Valley Dorrigo Magpies RLFC, you’ll have a story of his generosity, attention to detail, single mindedness and courage,” he said.
“While we’re sad to see Trevor finish his watch with 221, we are all incredibly grateful for his years of service and leadership.”
“From all the past and current firefighters at 221, thank you Trevor!”
