Last Sunday saw the semi finals of the Bellingen Park Tennis Singles Championship.
In A grade Mike Hartley defeated a brave Moshik Goffer 6-2 6-3 in a match with incredible skill displayed by both players.
In the other semi final Sam Baker took on Nick Bertsos with Nick prevailing 6-2 6-3 in a brutal encounter that left both players gasping for air.
B grade saw another Hartley, Cherie take on James Axton in a game of cat & mouse resulting in a win to James 6-4 6-1.
In the other semi, Anna Barne took on Sham Lawi in the “Battle of the Baseline.”
Anna held her nerve in the end to win 6-1 6-3.
With C grade only having 1 pool, John Russel and Xavier Hartley go straight through to the finals after finishing on top in the round robin.
In the juniors Jack Barne & Jarrah Hartley have advanced to Sunday’s finals for the under 10’s.
The under 14’s semi finals are being played Thursday night.
Lachie Barne taking on Xavier Hartley and Kai Hartley playing Harry O’Brien from Dorrigo, who’s grandfather won A grade 35 years ago.
The two winners will advance to Sunday’s final.
This Sunday’s finals kick off at 8:30 am followed by a noon BBQ for all members, family & guests.

Juniors Final under 10’s Jack Barne V Jarrah Hartley on court 3.
Juniors Final under 14’s yet to be decided on court 4.
10 am A Grade Final Mike Hartley v Nick Bertsos on court 1.
B grade Final Anna Barne v James Axton on court 3.
11:30 am Presentation of trophies
12 noon BBQ lunch + BYO drinks & dessert.
