In a world that often tells men to “toughen up,” it’s easy to forget that what most men really need is connection – real mateship, honest conversation, and a place to be themselves.
That’s exactly what the Men’s Gathering is all about. Meeting fortnightly on Wednesdays, 6.00–8.00pm at The Hub (39 Hammond Street, Bellingen), this laid-back get-together offers men a safe space to chat, laugh, and share life over pizza, chai, and good conversation.
It’s not about having all the answers – it’s about doing life together with acceptance, encouragement, and faith. Each session brings men from every walk of life to talk openly about the ups and downs we all face, with reflections drawn from the Bible that help guide and inspire.
This November, the group welcomes two inspiring guest speakers:
Peter Irvine – Wednesday 5th November
Best known as the co-founder of Gloria Jean’s Coffees Australia and CEO of Kingdom Momentum Ltd, Peter has more than 50 years’ experience across business and ministry. His leadership helped launch McDonald’s in Australia and grow Gloria Jean’s to over 800 stores worldwide. A sought-after speaker and author, Peter brings wisdom, faith, and encouragement to help men live with purpose.
Des Kennedy – Wednesday 17th November
An Irish-Australian whose life was transformed by Christ, Des walked away from a successful corporate career with Qantas, NRMA, Fonterra, and Deutsche Bank after a life-changing encounter on the Stuart Highway in 2011. Since then, he has pioneered a men’s ministry that has grown to over 60 groups and now leads MoMENtum, a national radio ministry helping men find identity and courage through faith.
Whether you’re facing challenges, looking for mateship, or just need a space to breathe, the Men’s Gathering is for you.
