OVH Music Fest Raises Funds for New Community Pantry

URUNGA, Oct. 11, 2025 – The OVH Urunga Music Fest successfully brought the community together this past Saturday, raising over $2000 for the newly formed Urunga Community Pantry. The event combined live music with a second-hand market and a charity auction to support the vital new service.

The pantry, located in Morris Arcade, was recently established to serve the growing needs of the community, including seniors, families, and vulnerable residents, as well as people experiencing homelessness and their pets. It is currently run entirely by volunteers and is open 10 hours per week.

Funds were raised through an auction featuring donations from local businesses including Anchors Wharf, Sundance Taverna, and Guru’s. The day, organised by the OVH and event producer Bridget Hart,  featured a diverse musical lineup, including Sydney singer-songwriter Sam Newton-Hart, Bellingen’s Joe Newton, QLD blues legend Pop Standen, and local rock bands The Stops! and The Nikki’s.

“The support from everyone has been incredible,” said one organiser. “It shows how much this community cares.” Annie from the Urunga Community Pantry, “The music was fantastic, and it was all for a great cause.”

The Urunga Community Pantry is gratefully accepting donations of nonperishable food, pet supplies, and household items to continue its work.

With such a successful day, the OVH are looking forward to creating more events to support community initiatives.
