Swamp Grooves and Border Town Swagger: Flaky Jake Hits the Federal

Flaky Jake & the Low Commotions draw from the dance music traditions of Louisiana, Texas and the borderlands, blending Cajun and zydeco with conjunto, country and swampy grooves. The result is raw, high-energy, foot-stomping music that celebrates rhythm, storytelling and community.

Alongside original material, the Low Commotions reinterpret classic songs in ways you’ve likely never heard before — reworked through accordion-led grooves, deep rhythms and border-town swagger. Familiar tunes are transformed into something raw, unexpected and made for the dance floor.

With a sound that’s equal parts gritty and joyful, the band honour traditional styles while bringing their own modern edge to the music. From sweaty pub rooms to festival stages, their shows are about connection, movement and letting the music do what it’s always done best — lift the soul and keep the good times rolling.
