C.ex Urunga Golf Club’s men’s veterans Stableford on Monday, 12 January 2026 produced some excellent scoring, with Ross Williams leading the way after carding an impressive 40 points to claim first place. Garry Matthews followed closely with 39 points to finish second, while Alan Titley secured third place on a countback after posting 38 points. Nearest the pin honours were shared by Gary Teale on the 3rd, Mike Edsall on the 9th and Tom Faulkner on the 18th, each rewarded for their precision.
The ladies took to the course on Wednesday, 14 January 2026 for a single Stableford, where Helen Trist delivered a standout round to win with 38 points. Lisa Guest finished second on 35 points after a countback, edging out Nanette Watson, visiting from Narrabri, who also scored 35 points to take third place.
Thursday’s medley single Stableford on 15 January 2026 saw Peter Drysdale in fine form, posting a superb 41 points to take the win. Ross Hardaker was close behind in second place with 40 points, while Peter Jenson finished third on 35 points.
The ladies returned on Friday, 16 January 2026 for another single Stableford, with Faye Jones producing a strong round of 37 points to secure first place. Karen Kennedy finished second on 36 points, while Thea Kimber claimed third place with 35 points.
A large field contested the medley two-player Ambrose on Saturday, 17 January 2026, with Andrew Rogerson from Port Kembla and Urunga local Glenn Petersen combining superbly to take first place with a score of 59.75. Kim Michelsen and David McBaron finished second on 60.5, while Anthony Campbell and Peter Cocks claimed third place on a countback after posting 61.75. Nearest the pin prizes were won by John Leahy on the 3rd, Grant Homes on both the 9th and 16th, Glenn Petersen on the 12th, and John Piggott on the 18th.
Competition continued on Thursday, 22 January 2026 with a medley single Stableford, where Robert Morrison topped the field with an excellent 39 points to claim first place. John Schilter finished second on 36 points after a countback, while Kevin Sanford also posted 36 points to secure third place. Nearest the pin honours went to Bruce Parker on the 3rd, Robert Jones on the 9th, Kim Michelsen on the 12th, Waz Botfield on the 16th and Martin Tizzard on the 18th.
The ladies Monthly Medal was played on Friday, 23 January 2026, with Wendy Martin claiming victory after returning the best nett score of 65. Kay Saye finished second with a nett 73, while Dianne O’Leary secured third place on a countback with a nett 74.
The week wrapped up with a medley single Stableford on Saturday, 24 January 2026, where John Evans delivered an outstanding round to win with 40 points. Douglas Springall followed in second place on 37 points, while John Leahy claimed third with 34 points. Nearest the pin prizes were taken by John Piggott on the 3rd, Peter Cocks on the 9th, Arthur Hassett on the 16th and Matthew O’Brien on the 18th.
