OzGREEN’s Women’s We Can Dinner a Success

OzGREEN’s inaugural Women’s Dinner created a welcoming space for connection, reflection and shared learning.

The dinner celebrated the culmination of OzGREEN’s Womens’ WE CAN series of events and workshops for women residing between Bellingen and Macksville.

Meaghan Burkett from the Bellingen CWA also presented the findings from their recent Womens Survey and participants then shared ideas for OzGREEN programs for the future.

“We understand the huge value of gathering women’s voices to shape community action and are so thankful to all of the women who attended,” said OzGreen’s Co-CEOs Amy Denshire.

Some of the feedback from the dinner and workshops include:

“Loved being together with a beautiful group of women. Doing flower arrangements sparked joy.”

“Loved conversation with other women of all ages”

“I love the laid-back way it was run. It was stress free. Thanks so much for organising such a fun event.”91% of women felt more connected with others from this event

Ms Denshire said 100% of participants enjoyed the sharing ideas activity and 82% felt happier, more content or more positive from.

Over several months, OzGREEN brought women together in Bellingen and Macksville to build food security skills and community resilience.

“From bread making and pantry planning to growing perennials, preserving seasonal produce, power-outage cooking and foraging ... every workshop was hands-on, practical and empowering.”

“Through sharing circles and connection, confidence grew, networks strengthened, and real preparedness took shape.”

“WE CAN grew more than food. It grew skills, leadership and a stronger, more connected community.”

“Thank you to FRRR and Australia Post and Midwaste for supporting this event series across Bellingen and Macksville.”
