NSW/ACT’s best independent supermarkets have been recognised at the 2026 NSW/ACT State IGA Awards of Excellence.
The awards were held on Friday 27th March 2026, at Waterview, Bicentennial Park and were hosted by Aussie icon, Shane Jacobson.
The amazing team at IGA Bellingen won the NSW/ACT 2026 Community Award.
The store is the beating heart of the community, proudly sponsoring multiple local sporting clubs and supporting major cultural events including the Bellingen Show, Arts Trail, and Taranta Festival. As the Readers and Writers Festival’s major sponsor for five consecutive years, they champion local produce, organics, and specialty ranges. Their creative initiatives, like Rotary’s popular Grocery Grab and highly engaged team celebrations, show genuine community spirit. IGA Bellingen’s consistent, meaningful contribution makes them an outstanding candidate in NSW for this recognition.
A total of 22 awards were presented during the evening which celebrate the incredible work that many IGA stores across the region do every single day. These awards are judged on a range of criteria which include customer service, community pride, department excellence, brand values, merchandising, and the stores’ overall performance.
IGA Bellingen will go on to represent NSW/ACT at the National IGA Awards of Excellence in July, where they will be up against their interstate counterparts across Australia.
