The beguiling melodies and hushed tones of Lisa Mitchell will play out at the Bellingen Memorial Hall on Saturday 2 May.
The English-born Australian singer-songwriter Memorial Hall is renowned for crystal pure folk tunes such as the sublime “Pirouette” or subtle electro beats such as 2016’s “The Boys”, or the always-popular “Coin Laundry”.
Lisa first rose to prominence after finishing sixth on Australian Idol 2006 at age 16 before releasing her Platinum-certified debut album Wonder (2009), which won the Australian Music Prize, and featured the hit single “Neopolitan Dreams”.
Lisa has gone on to release another three albums and three EPs garnering top ten ARIA accreditations and multiple ARIA award nominations.
Her music consistently elicits an emotional response with artful storytelling and melodies that communicate directly with the soul. But it’s Lisa’s pure, tender vocal that remains the focal point of her songs, and you can get an exclusive hearing at a pre-show choir.
After starting Lisa Mitchell Choir in Naarm in early 2025, Lisa is bringing her serene and honeyed sessions to shows in regional NSW. Participants will have a 60-minute choir session with Lisa before doors open, where they will learn one of her songs in harmony arrangement, and then get to perform the song with her on the night. This special and exclusive offering is un-auditioned and open to all who want to connect with their voice and heart and have the experience of performing in a relaxed, casual environment.
