Australian folk artist SNEZ returns with her most powerful and evocative work to date. Her sixth studio album, Cardboard Wings, lands on 17 April 2026 — a bold and deeply personal collection of 14 songs that explore themes of refuge and displacement, love and resilience, and the enduring pull of Macedonian heritage.
Drawing from a working-class upbringing shaped by migrant parents and the industrial steelworks town of Port Kembla, her songwriting transforms personal histories into expansive, compelling storytelling.
The album will launch with a special performance at Bellingen Memorial Hall on 17 April 2026, before hitting the road for a national Australian tour, followed by SNEZ’s highly anticipated debut UK tour later this year.
With over 15 years of relentless touring across regional and remote Australia, SNEZ has built a reputation as a commanding live performer and a fearless storyteller. Her previous release, Fisher on the Sea, broke through during the pandemic with strong support across ABC and community radio, landing in the Top 10 of the AMRAP charts and awarded the prestigious Songs for Justice Award by the Alistair Hulett Memorial Fund for her track ‘No Points for Me’, performed at the National Folk Festival – cementing her place as an artist unafraid to speak truth through song.
On stage, SNEZ is joined by an exceptional ensemble — Stewart Peters (bass guitar, acoustic guitar, vocals), Laura Targett (violin), and Paul Jarman (keys, woodwind, percussion) — bringing a rich, dynamic energy that moves seamlessly from stripped-back intimacy to full-bodied soundscapes.
With Cardboard Wings, SNEZ continues to affirm her place as one of Australia’s most compelling contemporary folk voices. This is music with weight, purpose, and heart — a soaring, defiant body of work that demands to be heard.
