The Bellingen branch of the Country Women’s Association has been busy supporting the local community, recently hosting a successful Biggest Morning Tea and preparing for an exciting guest speaker event in the coming weeks.

Held on Thursday 21 May, the branch’s Biggest Morning Tea attracted around 50 people and raised almost $900 for the Cancer Council. It was a wonderful morning of friendship, conversation and community spirit, with guests enjoying homemade scones served with jam and cream, accompanied by plenty of tea and coffee.

The event also featured a popular trading table showcasing a variety of local produce, baked goods and handmade items, adding to the warm and welcoming atmosphere. Members were delighted with the strong community support and would like to thank everyone who attended, donated and contributed to the success of the day.

The Biggest Morning Tea is one of many ways the CWA contributes to the wellbeing of the community, bringing people together while supporting important causes.

Looking ahead, the Bellingen CWA is delighted to welcome author, speaker and entertainer Lucy Bloom to Bellingen on Monday 6 July at 11am.

Lucy is widely recognised for her engaging storytelling, quick wit and ability to find humour in life’s challenges and adventures. Over the years she has built a reputation as an accomplished communicator whose experiences have taken her across Australia and around the world, working in diverse communities and tackling a wide range of social and humanitarian issues.

Drawing on these experiences, Lucy has written several books and become a sought-after speaker, captivating audiences with stories that are at times hilarious, at times moving, and always thought-provoking. Her presentations blend laughter with genuine insight into resilience, community and the unexpected twists that life can bring.

The Bellingen CWA is excited to provide local residents with the opportunity to hear Lucy speak in person. Whether attendees are already familiar with her work or meeting her for the first time, the event promises to be an entertaining, inspiring and memorable occasion.

The branch warmly invites members of the community to come along and enjoy what is sure to be a lively and engaging morning. Everyone is welcome.
