This year we will be celebrating our 25th Winter Solstice at Kalang Hall with a brilliant bon fire on Saturday June 20th from 5pm.So come out and share the night with us!
Our local fire captain Tim Thorncraft is a champion bon fire builder, as those who have been to past events will testify. The popular children’s lantern making workshop was held at Kalang Community Garden last Sunday and was followed by a sausage sizzle. This year’s lanterns are very beautiful and both the children and adults got really creative.
There will be parking in the paddock, weather permitting and street parking along the newly sealed Kalang Road.
The night kicks off with the children’s lantern parade at 5.30pm around the tall bon fire. After the fire is lit, Famous Kalang Curries will be served from around 6pm
The Bellingen based Blues Rock band The Moonlighters will be playing on the outside stage. As the night really gets stomping the glorious deserts will be served with teas and coffee. It is a great fun family night .Please bring cash for the meals and drinks. All funds raised from the food and drink sales will go back into the community. Many thanks to the Kalang Fire Brigade and the many people who have made this night and the last 25 years of winter solstices so special. The event will end at midnight.
We have been kindly sponsored by Kombu, IGA, Swiss Patisserie and Bellingen Shire News. This is a Kalang Progress Association Event .
