With the addition of several players from Dorrigo the Magpies hit top form against Laurieton at the graveyard on Saturday when the heavy loss to Beechwood a few weeks back became a distant memory. 

The first ten minutes saw the Magpies score tries to Lachie French and Caleb Rhodes.   Ken Hughes converting one to take a 10-0 lead.  The game then settled into an even tussle with Laurieton scoring two converted tries and the Magpies being held up three times over their try line.   Laurieton going to the halftime break leading 12-10.

With Laurieton scoring a try soon after the break things were looking bleak for the Magpies however their hardworking defence began to show with tries to Riley Spokes and Lachie French.   Ken Hughes converting both to see the Magpies leading 22-16.  Laurieton hit back to even up the scores 22-22.  A length of the field run by Ryan Miller to score then turned the game in the Magpies favour and with Laurieton tiring .  Zane Cross and Jack Wetherall crossed for tries, with Ken Hughes converting all three,  to see the Magpies run out winners 38-22.

Next week the Magpies travel to play Lake Cathie, at Lake Cathie.   The week after they take their home game against Southwest Rocks to Dorrigo.
