The Dorrigo community has shown extraordinary generosity over the past year in support of the Dorrigo branch of the United Hospital Auxiliary (UHA) of NSW.

At the branch’s Annual General Meeting, President Lizzy Bennett announced the UHA had donated more than $35,000 to the Dorrigo Multipurpose Service (MPS).

The community’s support for the UHA was evident in the success of its fundraising activities, with strong participation in raffle ticket sales, the Made in Dorrigo markets, Dorrigo Dahlia Day, street stalls, the Misty Mountain Getaway and the Dorrigo Rotary Gala Ball.

President Lizzy thanked both the community and volunteers, with special mention going to Lexie Francis for her commitment and unwavering support over the past 12 months.

“Our UHA has made a significant contribution supporting Dorrigo MPS and this would not be possible without the incredible support and generosity of the Dorrigo community.” she said.

“I’d also like to thank all the local businesses, community groups and individuals who supported the Dorrigo UHA throughout the year, including The Oppy, Dorrigo Rotary, Jade Gibson of Jade Gibson Property, Rory from Birts Property and to Karen and Chris Shirley for their Open Garden event in Dorrigo.

Nurse Manager Dorrigo MPS Lynn Forsyth acknowledged the important role the UHA plays in supporting patients, staff and the wider MPS community.

“Thank you for your generosity, your time and compassion which help us support and care for our patients,” Ms Forsyth said.

“The equipment and resources you help provide support our teams and contribute to creating a positive experience for patients and their families when they receive care at Dorrigo MPS.”

Lizzy Bennett was returned as president for 2026-27, along with Treasurer Lexie Francis. The Dorrigo UHA is currently seeking a secretary, please contact Tiffany Ball on 0417 982 167 or email: tiffany.ball@health.nsw.gov.au
