The 2026 EJ Mantova Art Prize attracted more than 100 entries across intricate miniatures to striking landscapes and sculptural pieces. At the opening of the exhibition, judges Annie Talve (Arts National Coffs Coast Chair) and Michael Sprott (Sydney-based artists and sculptor) noted the talent in the region before announcing the prizes.
First prize in the Marie Warwick Memorial Prize (Open) was The Italian Vase by Charlotte Craib. Second was Edgeland by Richard Sampson.
In the landscape section, Bellinger Valley Sunrise by Tony Carlon took the top spot, followed by Bellinger River from Fernmount by Edward Cameron.
Artist in Residence by Dawn Lewis McDonald won the 2D miniatures section, with Awaiting Your Return by Gregory Coats coming second.
The 3D Sculpture section was won by Reggy Moir with The Odd Couple, with Linda Coomber’s Build your Nests, Weave your Webs following.
The exhibition will be on display from 11 April – 10 May at Bellingen Gallery & Framing Studio.
