Bellingen Big Band Set for Afternoon of Dynamic Swing

Join the Bellingen Big Band on Sunday June 21 at 2pm as they present the music made famous by Count Basie. The Bellingen Memorial Hall will reverberate with sounds from a bygone era brought to a dedicated group of musicians performing an afternoon of wonderful music.

A repertoire entirely made of Count Basie and his Orchestra’s performing and recording history. From the early years through to the dynamic swinging charts of the 50s and 60s, onto arrangements by Neal Hefti, Quincy Jones and Sammy Nestico. The Basie Band always had a distinctive sound and a feel that is classic Swing.

The Bellingen Big Band is a group of the regions’ finest instrumental ensemble players, soloists and vocalists. This hard working group has developed a library that showcases the “Bat Band” and it’s members many talents.

Directed by Chris Frater, the band is proud to present this exciting and uplifting concert.
