Organisers of the popular Bellingen Spring Plant Fair have put a call out for volunteers as they gear up for the long running plant extravaganza on Saturday 12 September.
Presented by the Bellingen Environment Centre Inc (BEC), the Bellingen Spring Plant Fair has become a celebration of all things green and local.
Bridget Hart from the Plant Fair team said its success would not happen without the help of dedicated volunteers.
“A big shout out to all our wonderful volunteers, old and new,” Bridget said.
“It’s and event run by volunteers to support volunteers that are advocating for action on climate change.”
“We are always looking for enthused plant-loving people to help for a couple of hours, so make contact if keen.”

Bridget said the Bellingen Plant Fair continues to grow strong through the passion and dedication of many good people, past and present.
“These include our faithful sponsors, Kombu Wholefoods and Hearthfire Bakery, our wonderful plant growers and awesome volunteers – it’s collaboration and celebration at its finest.”
BEC has presented The Bellingen Plant Fair since 1990, with a focus on supporting local growers and getting more plants in our earth.
Both organisations are not-for-profit and all monies from the Bellingen Plant Fair go back into the event and support the work of the Bellingen Environment Centre Inc.
The popular, stellar event attracts thousands of visitors from near and far each year, and the 2026 Spring Plant Fair will be no different.
There will be almost 100 plant stalls and plenty of local produce thanks to a partnership with the Bellingen Growers Market.
“We’ve got some new stall holders this year selling beautiful wildflowers and staghorns”
“We are also excited to have Luigi and Nidya from The Patch Organics farm doing a presentation on permaculture and growing organic food.”
Luigi and Nidya grow a diverse range of seasonal organic vegetables on one acre of land in a share farming arrangement with Levenvale Farm. Their local food production is complimented by pasture-raised chickens roam freely on open paddocks.
“The Patch is more than a farm. Through workshops in permaculture, biodynamics, and ethical food sourcing, we are building a community of Australians who know where their food comes from — and who have the knowledge and confidence to grow their own.”
“We will also have the amazing Jenny providing beautiful music. Jenny runs the songwriters’ group at The Stables once a week.”
There will also be a smorgasbord of scrumptious food, drinks and coffee.
“The Bellingen Plant Fair brings people together. Growers and patrons positively engage and share valuable information, educating our community on healthy soil and plants, and how to make a positive difference in our environment.”
Everyone is welcome to this family friendly event, but dogs or cats are not allowed.
