The Dorrigo folk and bluegrass festival
Is approaching quickly and we are sharing with our community a little taste of the festival as we present a community bush dance featuring Hootenanny Highway . It is a chance to enjoy what the festival is all about and we invite folk to come along and share an evening of good old traditional bush dance and company . We encourage you to bring family, friends and your neighbours from down the road!
The dances will be called You will get to meet new folk and there will be a n opportunity to support upcoming Dorrigo Youth Projects by supporting the refreshments available during the evening , the music will be toe tapping with a few slower ones to catch a breath! Starting at seven , and costing just 10$ pp children under 10 free we look forward to seeing you there . Presented by the festival and supported by the Dorrigo oppy
The dance reflects just one part of the programme that is presented at the festival where over the weekend we have three called dances , one on each day by three very different groups of musicians .
We will be sharing more about some of the amazing artists coming to the festival but overall the festival brings to ur community a chance to step back for a little while and leave the rush and constant momentum of life behind . Whether you come and camp onsite for the weekend or just step out for the day to discover some inspiring music, attend a workshop or two , join in the choir or simply soak up the atmosphere . We have something for everyone and hope that you might discover a little gem to hold close and take away with you . We made the decision from the very start to not have alcohol on the grounds and we believe this has become incremental in delivering a festival where families and patrons feel comfortable , where music and song bring us all together .
On Friday night for the ‘hoe down’ the band will include all the tutors from the 0ld time music school, Eli west , Patrick M’gonigle, Martha Spencer , Lucas Pasley and Cat and Clint with Judy Jones.
On Saturday afternoon Hootenanny Highway. And Sunday afternoon With the watershed string band.
