The Bellingen Plant Fair attracted around 85 stallholders and visitors travelling by coach from Grafton, Yamba and Port Macquarie, with proceeds going toward the Bellingen Environment Centre.
The event opened with a Welcome to Country from Uncle Miklo, who performed alongside Luke Rhodes, with further music from Jenny Adams. A workshop run by Joe was also among the day’s highlights.
“We had a great day,” organiser Bridget Hart said. “It was another really successful event,” she said, adding that a number of newcomers had joined the fair’s usual line-up of stallholders this year.
Regular stallholders included Boggy Creek Native Nursery, the Maxwell Community Garden and the Seed Savers Network, which works with growers across the region to support sustainable gardens and plantings.
Hart and the other organisers thanked the community for their ongoing support of the Bellingen Environment Centre’s cake stall and acknowledged the volunteers who ran the event on the day.
