Et Tu Theatre’s production of Orphans, previewed in the last edition, opens at the Bellingen Memorial Hall Studio on October 1, with several performances already close to full.
“It’s probably better to book than try and show up,” Et Tu co-founder Amy Bradney-George said.
The preview performance on October 1 is $30 a ticket. Opening night on Friday October 2 includes a drink and nibbles after the show for $35, with only a handful of tickets left. Sunday October 4 is almost sold out, while Monday October 5 – the public holiday – has a 4pm show with good availability.
Nine performances are scheduled across the season in the studio space, which seats just 50 people.
“The story really goes to dark places, but it makes you think about what it means to be human, and to have a family,” Bradney-George said. “We’re trying to bring the kind of professional theatre you’d see in Sydney or Melbourne here, rather than people having to go elsewhere to see this level of work.”
