I am part of the Tuckers Nob community going out early mornings making a point to save the forest.This beautiful koala habitat is excluded from protection from the Great Koala Park and is about to be logged. This has outraged the community but the residents of Bellingen town don’t understand the impact this will have on the surroundings including the swimming hole in the Never Never Creek.
The forest will be cut down and replanted with a monoculture of one kind of tree imported from Grafton.
Culling these trees will create an industrial zone around the town massively increasing the fire risk, dust/ global warming, loss of life and loss of critical habitat. Lately there have been sightings of koalas in the Tuckers Nob forest. All will soon be gone.
