Readers and writers across the Coffs Coast will celebrate the region’s vibrant literary community at the first Coffs Coast Authors’ Showcase on Saturday 28 November.
Organised by the City of Coffs Harbour Libraries and hosted at Yarrila Place, the free event brings together more than 40 of the region’s emerging and established authors, and gives readers the opportunity to connect with the people behind the books.
Between 9am and 12 noon visitors can browse author stalls, discover books across a range of genres, chat directly with writers, listen to short presentations and buy books and have them signed.
“Whether you’re an avid reader, an aspiring writer, or simply passionate about supporting local talent, the showcase is your chance to connect with your community and celebrate the power of story-telling,” Mayor Nikki Williams said.
“Discover the incredible stories being created right here in our region, meet the people behind them, and perhaps uncover your next favourite read along the way.”
A highlight of the morning will be a series of lightning talks, giving participating authors the opportunity to share insights into their books, writing journeys and creative processes. These short presentations will offer a fascinating glimpse into the ideas, experiences and inspiration behind the stories being told.
The showcase will be hosted by MC Adam Norris, who will help bring the morning together and introduce audiences to the authors and their work.
Adam has been the Artistic Director of the popular Bellingen Readers & Writers Festival since 2020 and moderates several of the sessions. He is also an international short fiction judge for NYC Midnight.
The Coffs Coast Authors’ Showcase is an opportunity to recognise the important contribution local writers make to the cultural life of our region. From self-published authors taking their first steps to established writers with years of experience, the showcase aims to create a welcoming space where stories can be shared, connections can be made and local talent can be celebrated.
And for aspiring writers, it’s the chance to meet other creative people, exchange ideas and gain inspiration from the experiences of published authors.
The inaugural showcase is part of the City’s commitment to support local writers and build stronger connections between authors and readers across the region. Visitors will receive complimentary morning tea, tea and coffee.
The event is free but registrations are appreciated – https://libraries.coffsharbour.nsw.gov.au/Whats-On/2026-Coffs-Coast-Authors-Showcase
