Bellingen Show president Emily Kenny has used to National Volunteers Week (May 18-26) to pour praise on show volunteers and the Bellingen Showgrounds Land Management team.
“What we create together would simply not exist without volunteers,” Ms Kenny said.
“The saying “not all heroes wear capes” could not be more true. Our heroes wear work boots, committee shirts, high-vis vests, gloves and sometimes just tired faces after a long day. Yet they still show up, time and time again, because they care deeply about their community and the people in it.”
Alongside the day-to-day maintenance, Ms Kenny said there are always projects quietly ticking away in the background- Improvements, repairs and ongoing work that help keep the Showground thriving year-round.
“The care put into this space throughout the entire year helps make events like Bellingen Show possible.”
