Year 9 students from the Chrysalis Steiner School at Thora are hosting a full day canoe adventure on the upper Bellinger River on Saturday 26 September.

Chrysalis Steiner School is inviting 14 keen Bellingen community members new or experienced with canoeing to splash out for a cause on the beautiful Upper Bellinger River.

This special guided canoe trip on moving water will take place from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM on Saturday 26 September, raising essential funds for the school’s community project in Arnhem land, the Northern Territory.

Tickets are priced at $175 per person. This all-inclusive experience features a full day of paddling on the upper Bellinger River, dry bags for your gear and a delicious lunch included.

The event is hosted and run by Chrysalis Class 9 students, who will look after guests both on the water and on land by preparing a fresh lunch. To ensure participant safety, the journey will be supervised by two Paddling Australia qualified canoe instructors.

Every dollar raised directly supports our upcoming journey to the remote outstation of Mikginj Valley in Arnhem Land. The group needs to raise a minimum of $20,000 to purchase the necessary tools and construction materials for a community project. Any remaining funds will be donated directly to the local community and used to support our trip to this amazing part of the world.

Please call the school on 6655 8616 or admin@chrysalis.nsw.edu.au if you would like to join in on the canoe adventure.
